Porcelain Bowl — Guipure
One-off piece
Wheel-thrown porcelain, approx. 35cm diameter.

An allover lattice of looping trailed line runs across the bowl, studded with turquoise stars where the strands cross. Open and even at the rim, it gathers toward the centre into a dense, overlapping drift — the raised lines crowding together, the glaze breaking and pooling over them. Two undecorated lines cut clean across the pattern, dividing it without ornament. The effect is of openwork drawn in on itself rather than laid out flat.

Hand-decorated; the lines are trailed in glaze and stand slightly raised against a cool celadon ground of ash glaze made from renewable wood ash.
