Porcelain Bowl — Ticking and Foulard

Wheel-thrown porcelain, approx. 39cm diameter.

A wide rim falls to a deep central well, where the glaze gathers smooth and golden. Open parallel lines run out past the rim, as if cut from a larger cloth, until — along a crisp diagonal seam — a panel of denser net is set into them, knotting into teal beads and small leaf-forms. One cloth inset into the other, the pattern set against the form rather than wrapped around it.

Hand-decorated; the teal lines are trailed in glaze and stand slightly raised against a ground of ash glaze made from locally sourced wood ash.
