Wheel-thrown porcelain, approx. 41.5cm diameter.

An allover lattice of intersecting circles covers the bowl, the trailed lines standing raised and reading near-black where the glaze gathers over them. The ground is deep and mottled — slate blue shading to aubergine and iron-red, flecked through with pale speckle — so the pattern seems to surface from within the glaze rather than to sit on top of it.

Hand-decorated; the lines are trailed in glaze and stand slightly raised, the glaze pooling dark along them and mottling across the field.
